The most unforgettable quote from Sample This: which is tougher, finding a needle in the haystack, or finding hay in a needlestack?
To totally appreciate this you really have to be there watching the production looking at the actor's hilarious face :D :D
Reverend preached his last sermon at TNG today in the capacity as pastor-in-charge. Not that I know much about church affairs, but I could understand what he meant about church politics. Leaders aren't having a smooth-sailing and total good life managing the church, yet most of the members of the congregation would never understand the "suffering" behind it. Ever since I've got to know soul mate and his work better, I've learnt to put myself in the shoes of those behind the scenes, away from all the honour and glamour . I understand, and I appreciate. For all that our pastors have done, I wish them well in their next appointment :)
The sermon today served as a timely reminder. That I am to be a servant-leader. Matthew 20:26-28 "whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be your servant must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many". Shall share with you the points that I noted from sermon today! :)
Servant leaders lead by relationship, not coercion.
By support, not control.
By developing others, not managing the entire ministry.
By love, not domination.
By seeking growth, not position.
I'm definitely not perfect. But, I want to be a servant leader...
i left my footprints (:
